Meeting friends in Dubrovnik

Smiles from ear to ear greeted us as the hull of the boat Marco Polo lowered and our friends Vic and Vicki disembarked. Robby and Paul were equally thrilled waving furiously and shouting greetings through the fence.
Difficult to listen to one another as the excitement resulted in each of us talking at the same time and no one listening.
The walled city was our sanctuary as we wheeled V&Vs luggage through the medieval labyrinth of Dubrovnik. Wandering over the polished cobblestones reflected the joy of seeing our 'old' friends.
Reached our apartment, full of old world charm. Three storeys of steps (poor V's knee) had us opening the thick wooden door to the welcome of our Croatian hosts who treated us to slivervitch?, Brandy and home made wine. Rosey cheeks abound, we dropped off luggage and headed down stairs to the smells of cuisines and a celebration dinner.
Excitement has settled and we can now hear one another. Breakfast with a shot of good coffee and the boys a beer. The people traffic is getting busy but we seem oblivious to it as our attention is with one another.
Two tropical-like thunderstorms in the afternoon had us heading for early cocktails. A daiquiri, martini and black Russians put us in the mood for a snooze.
This was such a short time together as Robby and Paul, tonight, are on their way to Italy. A farewell dinner, loads of Vicki’s photos and we bid farewell to a perfect 30hr reunion.

Hi Robby'n'Paul,
Great to keep track of your adventures - the boat trip sounded fantastic. Rats about losing your stuff though - memories of Italy!
You both look tanned and relaxed - just the way it should be. We're off on a houseboat jaunt for a week tomorrow. Last week we went for our degustation menu treat at The Grange - exquisite taste sensation. All is well here. LOve Marie and Marty. XXXX

Bugger !@#$% I shan't write what Murr let flow when told of your stolen goods suffice to say he learned all those colourful words on job sites. My emotions were soaring with your wonderful rendez-vous with V & V, always nice to share a bot bot with friends. NASG goes along way to keep our members happy. Home-fires burning nicely, msg just in from V & V preparing to leave Dubrovnik, they have sun we have wind, rain and cold temps, surely a mere glitch in spring, springing forth. Tear shed for your happy memories and thoughts of Geoff, I had to go and get a Bundy and Coke (no sponsorship dropping, just calming tonic) Be assured that the NASG are keeping tabs on things and looking after our own as much as we can.
Was told once of a lovely legend relating to the islands off the Croatian coast along the lines of stars dropped from Heaven. Can't remember now, but am sure someone out there, probably Vic, will know of it. He is bound to have read of it in some musty museum! Robby, sad news of your camera, I hope you haven't lost all of your photos and managed to download some, somewhere. Failing that, who gives a - just go back and do it all over again :-). I am sure there will be plenty of volunteers to stand guard and snarl and he who approachith. (*& hIc $#@)& canisfinsihed xxx
